MISSION STATEMENT
Uplifting WELBEDACHT through PRAYER MENTORING and EDUCATION
Demographics of the Area
Welbedacht is an informal settlement that now houses 100000 people.
The government has embarked on a low cost housing project that will be completed soon the goal is to put 12000 homes in this area.
The infer-structure of the area has improved dramatically
Welbedacht has a very high unemployment rate.
Much of the problems in the area are due to the people being very poor
The children are affected the most: Many Children are abused physically and sexually.Many have lost both parents to aids.Many children do not go to school because of a lack of funds –poor nutrition lack of medical care and violence at home.This is driving many young adults and adolescents to drugs promiscuous living and crime.
WE FEED +- 200 CHILDREN A DAY @ A COST OF 200 US DOLLARS PER DAY ( 5 days a week every School day)THE Children enjoy a hot meal 4 some it is the main meal of the day
We also envision a mentoring program that will include home work supervision.We hope to put up a structure in the near future. We hope to make a difference in the lives of the children.
